AGED DEPENDENT RELATIVE VISA

To apply for the Aged Dependent Relative (Permanent Residence) visa to Australia you must be a single, widowed or divorced aged person dependent on a relative who lives in Australia. Your relative in Australia who must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen must also sponsor you.

For males, the qualifying age for an Australian age is 65. For females, the qualifying age is the qualifying age is 62.

Your relative in Australia must be a child, adopted child, parent, brother or sister, grandchild, uncle, aunt, niece or nephew (or step relative). You must prove that you are wholly or substantially dependent on the Australian relative for financial support for the basic needs of food, shelter and clothing, and that the support has been provided for a reasonable period (normally three years).

REMAINING RELATIVE VISA

To apply for the Remaining Relative (Permanent Residence) visa to Australia you must be the brother, sister or child (or step relative) of an Australia relative, and you must be living on your own overseas.

Your relative in Australia, who must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, must sponsor you. Your application cannot be approved if your sponsor has previously sponsored/nominated a person who has subsequently been granted a visa on the basis of being a remaining relative, or was granted a visa on the basis of being a remaining relative.

You must have no close family ties outside Australia, and you or your spouse must not have a near relative who is a parent, brother, sister; minor child who is not in your daily care and control, or an adult child over 18 who is not dependent on you, or step equivalents – residing in the same country as you.

You and your spouse must not have more than three near relatives residing in a different country than you, and you and your spouse must not have had contact with these near relatives for a reasonable period before the application.

CAREER VISA

To apply for the Career visa (Permanent Residence) to Australia you must be willing and able to give substantial, continual assistance to an Australian relative (or a member of their family) who has a medical condition that is causing physical, intellectual or sensory impairment of their ability to attend to the practical aspects of daily life. The type of assistance you would provide must be a type that cannot reasonably be obtained from any other relative or from welfare, hospital, nursing or community services in Australia.

Relative includes child, parent, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew (or step relative). The need for assistance must be likely to continue for at least two years.
